If you love shopping, you must not miss a stroll down via dei Condotti, a crowded street of shops and boutiques of great designers of international fashion; to the famous Antico Caffè Greco, meeting space for artists and intellectuals from long-ago 1760, where you can take advantage of a well-deserved moment of relaxation. Federico Fellini was made immortal by the masterpiece "La Dolce Vita" the fascinating nocturne of Via Veneto where even today ancient and elegant shops we await you to relive the fascination of the Rome of the 1960's. From Via Veneto you will cross corso d'Italia and immerge from the city park of Villa Borghese admiring the incredible extension and the amazing Galleria Borghese that, in the villa of the same name, maintain the works of artists such as Raffaello and Michelangelo; nearby, the GNAM (Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna): a view of contemporary art of Renato Guttuso and Giorgio De Chirico. Along Via dei Fori Imperiali, less than 500 meters from Hotel Clarin, are the ruins of ancient Roman temples and buildings of the Trajan markets excavated in the hills through the construction techniques of laterizio; toward the south, at the end of the road, there appear the high walls of the Coliseum, an imposing circular arena, theater of the battles of gladiators. Still in contact with the splendors of ancient Rome, we recommend the view of the Pantheon. Magnificently preserved, it is temple dedicated to the seven planetary divinities during the reign of Adrian; the unique circular structure with cupola is open to the sky through an orb of 9 meters in diameter. Arriving at Termini Station in Rome, head toward the Piazza of the Repubblica, following via Einaudi; turn left on via Nazionale and after 300 meters turn left on via Venezia; after 30 meters you will cross via Palermo where, at number 36, the Hotel Clarin is located. (approximate walking time: 7 minutes); as an alternative, use bus number 64, exiting after three stops. By plane. The Fiumicino airport is 35 km. away. To reach Hotel Clarin, take a taxi or shuttle train, leaving every 30 minutes, direct to Termini Station; continue as described in the point "By train". The airport Ciampino is 15 km away. To reach Hotel Clarin take a taxi or a "Cotral" bus, which will take you to the stop for the "Tiburtina" metro station, from which you can reach the Termini Station and follow the indications described in the point "By train". Reaching Rome by highway, take the beltway, the Grande Accordo Anulare (GRA) and travel toward "Salaria" following the signs first to the city center and then to Termini Station; continue as described in the point "By train". |
